The former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering Houston native George Floyd wants that guilty verdict thrown out. Derek Chauvin's attorney is now seeking a new trial alleging jury misconduct and a violation of due process.

“Former Officer Goines is not credible. We do not support the integrity of Mr. Floyd’s conviction and agree these circumstances warrant a posthumous pardon," Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg wrote in a letter to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.
