Worker dies after Cypress-area construction site accident

CYPRESS, Texas (FOX 26) - The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office & Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating a construction site accident that ended with the death of a worker on North Bridgeland Lake Parkway near Fry Road in the Cypress area at around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

After a construction crew loaded a wooden box onto a forklift, two of the workers entered the box as it was lifted to a higher floor. When the weight shifted in the box, one of the workers jumped off and was not hurt but the other worker fell and the box fell upon him. CPR was performed on that man before he was taken to a hospital where he later died.
