Tunnel partially collapses in downtown Houston

Some tense moments in downtown Houston Tuesday afternoon after a tunnel partially collapsed.

That tunnel was a connector from a new building under construction and an existing structure on Main at Capitol.

No one was hurt but it caused the light rail to temporarily cease operation as well as traffic in the area.

Harvey Construction declined to comment on the incident.

However, the city of Houston issued a statement saying the work crews hit a void underground causing the minor collapse. That portion of Main will be shutdown overnight to stabilize that void.
