HOUSTON - Expect major traffic delays in northwest Houston along the Northwest Freeway due to a heavy truck accident.

Houston Transtar is reporting all westbound lanes on US-290 before FM-1960 are closed.

The Cy-Fair Fire Department sates the roadway will be closed for the next few hours due to an overturned 18-wheeler that appears to have lost its load.

Accordign to the fire department, the HAZMAT team is on scene to help with a fuel spill.

Drivers are suggested to find alternate routes.
