Toyota, Subaru, Lexus recall over 90,000 vehicles over heating, cooling system issues

A recall has been issued for thousands of Toyota, Subaru, and Lexus vehicles due to problems with their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
In a Sept. 5 recall notice National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noted that Toyota’s parent company, which owns Lexus and a part of Subaru, detected some of its vehicles in the model years 2023 to 2025 may have defective HVAC systems.

The NHTSA added in the notice that these systems may have electrical compressor failure, which may cause the defroster or defogger to not work, raising the risk of a crash.

Approximately 94,320 vehicles in the following models listed below are part of the recall, per the NHTSA notice:
- Toyota bZ4X 2023-2025
- Lexus RZ 2023-2025
- Subaru Solterra 2023-2025
Are repairs available for the recalled vehicles?
What you can do:
Owners of the recalled cars can bring their vehicles to a Toyota, Lexus, or Subaru dealer to get the HVAC control software repaired for free. Car dealers will also inspect the car’s electrical compressor and replace it if needed, according to the NHTSA.
Moreover, car owners are expected to receive notification letters on October 20. And they can also call Toyota’s customer service number at 1-800-331-4331.
Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB07 and 25TA07. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB04 and 25LA04. Subaru's number for this recall is WRD-25.
