In the Baytown area one person is dead after a double shooting. Sheriff’s deputies say the violence erupted at about 7:30 last night -- in the 19-hundred block of jones road. We’re told one person was found dead inside a home... And another man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.


One person is locked up after an early morning police chase ended with the suspect running out of gas on the Katy freeway. It started at around 2-30 this morning at the beltway and highway 225 near Pasadena. 

The chase lasted about 15 minutes. Investigators say the vehicle was stolen.


Arson investigators are looking into a fire that tore through a townhouse overnight in southwest Houston.

                We’re told two men rescued a couple and small child from the burned out unit late last night at Gemini and oak. Three units were damaged. Nobody was hurt. 


                A judge has cleared the way for the University of Texas to move a statue of confederate president Jefferson Davis away from the main area of campus. A southern heritage group tried to object, saying uprooting the monument is a quote "cultural atrocity."
