Severe weather threat on Wednesday, Thursday in Houston-area

Houstonians can expect to see clouds and light afternoon shower on Christmas Day.  It will be mild with highs in the low 70's. Then on Wednesday, a strong upper level low-pressure system will bring the chance for showers and storms Wednesday into Thursday.

The most intense weather may hit around late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Most of the Houston viewing area is under a 'slight risk' for seeing severe weather. The main threats include gusty winds and a possible tornado. After that, we'll be dry for a day. Looking long term, it may be a good idea to make indoor plans for New Years Eve and New Year's Day.
