'See, Test & Treat' against cervical cancer
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Texas has the third highest rate of cervical cancer in the country. It also has the highest uninsured rate. This means many women do not receive the life-saving care they need. That’s where CAP steps in.
This Saturday, the CAP Foundation will provide free cervical and breast cancer screenings to uninsured women at See, Test & Treat. A pathologist will also provide information on general health care and cancer risks.
See, Test & Treat is an effort to reduce the rate of cervical and breast cancer through early screening and access to treatment.
The event takes place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UT Physicians Bayshore Multispecialty Clinic at 11476 Space Center Blvd #100, Houston, TX 77059. Women must make an appointment to attend the event.
