One dead after attempted burglary

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed one person is dead after what seems to be an attempted burglary.

FOX 26 News talked with neighbors who said they heard two gunshots a little before 7 p.m.

They reported a man was trying to break into a house, possibly to steal a car. That was when the man inside the house opened fire.

Police held the homeowner in the backseat of one of their police vehicles as they were processing the scene.
