Missing medication gets Katy ISD employee removed from campus

A Katy Independent School District employee was removed from campus and has since resigned after a nurse found medication missing from a locked cabinet, according to a statement released by the district.

After the nurse at Stanley Elementary School found a key broken from the cabinet and noticed the missing medication on Aug. 24, the nurse reported the incident to campus administrators who contacted Katy ISD police and the human resources department.

After an investigation determined that an employee had taken the medication, administrators removed the employee from campus and placed that employee on administrative leave that same day.

The employee who was under investigation resigned on Sept. 2 and faces charges of criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and theft.
