Gutierrez says he cannot wait to cook for his family on his new stove after his old stove broke in 2023. He has been using two hot plates to make meals for his family.
"It took a while to cook, but I just had to go out and do it, and it was kind of hard, but I had to feed my kids. I had to do something for them," said Gutierrez.
The backstory:
- Gutierrez says the New Beginning Church Supernatural has been helping him since the early 2000s.
- Gutierrez says that after his original stove broke he tried to make a monthly payment on another stove, but that became a financial burden for his family.
- Gutierrez was in touch with Pastor Roderick Johnson of New Beginnings Church Supernatural about a stove and says Pastor Johnson was working for quite some time to get him one.
- Pastor Roderick Johnson says, thanks to partnerships in the community, they were able to get Gutierrez a stove.
Gutierrez says times are tough, so financially it was hard for him to get his stove fixed, let alone buy a new one.
Johnson says he feels blessed to be able to help Vincent and his family have a better way of preparing meals.
" A man can do for his family. That is what he is supposed to be doing," said Johnson.
