Last day of early voting for Texas Senate District 6 race
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Today is the last day of early voting in the Texas Senate District 6 election.
In November, when Texas State Senator Sylvia Garcia was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives she resigned her Texas senate seat and Governor Greg Abbott declared a special election to be held on December 11, 2018.
There are 4 candidates on the ballot:
Carol Alvarado - A Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 145. She served on the Houston City Council from 2002- 2007
Martha Elena Fierro - A Republican, she is an ordained elder at Gulf Meadows Church and a Harris County GOP precinct chair.
Ana Hernandez - A Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 143. She is an attorney with the Mostyn Law Firm.
Mia Mundy - A Democratic activist, she is an Executive Search Consultant for Manhattan Resources.
If you are a registered voter living in the shaded area of the map you can vote in the Texas Senate District 6 election. Polls are open until 7PM, Friday, December 7th. Election Day is Tuesday, December 11.
