What we know:

Lieutenant Berry reports the scene began around 9:37 p.m. when officers were called to a shooting on Hartwick Road near the intersection of Aldine Westfield Road in the Lindale Farms neighborhood.

When deputies arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her arm. She was taken to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Deputies also found a second injured person with a broken leg. Officials said it was later determined that this person was the suspect, who has been identified as Emanuel Marin, 24.

Further investigation revealed that the victim and her boyfriend were coming home from church in separate vehicles.

When the woman arrived home, officials said she parked her car in the garage. As her boyfriend pulled into the driveway, he heard gunshots from inside the garage and saw his girlfriend being chased by a man dressed in black.

Officials said that's when Marin fired at the boyfriend's car, hitting it.

Authorities said, fearing for his life, the boyfriend drove his car into Marin, injuring him.

Marin was later identified as a former church member who had been asked not to return. Officials said he was banned from returning after making threats to staff members.

Marin has been charged with burglary of a habitation and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
