Harris County Deputy walking again after being shot 7 times

A Precinct 4 deputy defines the word, "resilient." Over 4 Months after Deputy Justin Gay was shot 7 times in his legs, in the line of duty, doctors have him on his feet and walking!

On November 5, 2017, Deputy Gay responded to a disturbance call and attempted to detain a suspect when the suspect pulled a gun and shot him and point blank range 7 times with a 45 caliber pistol. The damage to Deputy Gay’s legs was extensive and required multiple surgeries and rigorous rehabilitation the past 4 months.

Although Deputy Gay is up and walking, his road to recovery will be longer and will require more physical rehabilitation.

Deputy Gay still receives a paycheck from the county, however, his extra job income has stopped due to his inability to work.  The Constable’s Office threw a fundraiser for Deputy Gay and his family on December 04, 2017 to aid in supplementing the income to Deputy Gay’s family.

The Constable's Office stated that anyone who wishes to mail a donation that will be forwarded to Deputy Gay may do so by mailing it to the address of 18482 Kuykendahl Road # 191, Spring, Texas 77379.
