Harris County crime: Dentist admits to 'huffing' nitrous oxide, authorities say

One dentist is facing charges after authorities said he admitted to "huffing" nitrous oxide.

What we know:

According to a release, officials said a patrol supervisor with the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in the 400 block of West 19th Street. 

Officials said the driver, later identified as Christopher Pedlar, a doctor of dentistry and professor at UT, was found to be in possession of 108 canisters of nitrous oxide.

Authorities stated Pedlar admitted to "huffing" all day long and at the time of his arrest was out on a $5,000 bond in Harris County for another arrest involving "huffing" nitrous oxide. 

Pedlar was arrested and booked after being medically cleared. 

Pedlar is charged with eluding and possession/use of volatile substances.

Also, due to the charges, officials said all the canisters were seized as evidence of the crime.
