Firefighter relieved of duty following child abuse case
Eric Rivera
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Following his arrest related to an indecency with a child case, Eric Rivera has been relieved of duty by the Houston Fire Department pending an administrative investigation.
Rivera, 40, was arrested by Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies. The Children's Assessment Center conducted a forensic interview with 16-year-old girl on April 5, 2017, who said that when she was five or six years old, Rivera had kissed her on the lips. The girl said that over the years, Rivera would touch her inappropriately with the last incident in December 2015.
During the medical examination at the Children's Assessment Center, the doctor stated the girl had been depressed and had contemplated suicide.
Rivera was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
