Expect traffic as University of Houston welcomes Republican Debate

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - This evening, the University of Houston (UH) will host the last Televised Republican Debate before the "Super Tuesday" primaries at the Moores Opera Center. As a result, motorists in an around the area of the University of Houston can expect to see crowds, emergency vehicles, as well as an increase in traffic. People looking to participate in activities surrounding the debate are encouraged to use METRO Bus or Rail to get to UH.
Street Closures
Cullen Blvd. between Elgin St. and Holman St. will be closed to traffic. Motorists with a need to drive onto the UH campus are encouraged to take Scott St. or Spur-5 as an alternate.
METRO Disruption
Due to the closure of Cullen St. METRO Bus routes servicing the University of Houston will be disrupted. The following information is provided by METRO:
Event detours; Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 10 p.m. to Friday, Feb. 26, at 2 a.m.
- Cullen between Elgin and Holman will be closed.
- Affected routes: 4 Beechnut, 9 Gulfton/Holman, 29 Cullen/Hirsch.......
