It was decided after on election night that Democrat Lizzie Pannill Fletcher would represent Texas' 7th Congressional district, dethroning 9-term incumbent, John Culberson.  It was an unprecedented win to unseat Republican incumbent, U.S. Rep. John Culberson, flipping a Houston House district that has been GOP-controlled since first sending George H.W. Bush to Congress 50 years ago.

Fletcher is a prominent corporate attorney and outspoken defender of abortion rights who argued that President Donald Trump was trying to hurt advances in women's equality. In her first TV interview since winning the election, Fletcher sat down on Friday morning with FOX 26, What's Your Point's Greg Groogan, to discuss her top goals representing Texas Congressional District 7.

"People have real problems that they want our leaders in Washington to solve," said Fletcher.

Fletcher addressed healthcare, flood control measures in Houston in a candid one-on-one with Groogan. "It starts with protecting their right for coverage for pre-existing conditions—making healthcare more affordable, more acceptable." Fletcher also spoke about national issues including the Mueller investigation into Russian collusion as well as the possibility of Nancy Pelosi becoming House speak again.
