Dad charged after toddler son grabs gun and shoots himself in SE Houston
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Investigators say that charges have been filed against a dad arrested in the shooting of a toddler that occurred at 10901 Telephone Road at 11 p.m. on May 20.
The suspect, 32-year-old Ali Parvez Masoom has been charged with making a firearm accessible to a minor.
The two-year-old toddler was transported by his parents to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
HPD patrol officers responded to an area hospital regarding the apparent accidental shooting of a two-year-old boy. Officers then discovered the shooting had occurred at a residence at the above address.
Further investigation and parents' statements determined Masoom, the father, had left the weapon within reach of the child. Masoom was then arrested and charged on June 30.
