Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office

A deputy with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables' Office helped a man get a shower, a haircut, and a bus ticket to Alabama when he told the deputy he desperately wanted to get back to his family and start over.

The constable's office says the deputy was patrolling Spring Cypress Road when he spotted the man escaping the heat under a tree. The man, Joseph, told the deputy he was homeless for the past four years and all of his belonging were stolen.

Joseph told the deputy he desperately wanted to get back to to his family in Alabama for a fresh start.

The constable deputy took Joseph to a showering facility and a barber shop to get cleaned up. With the help of a local church, Joseph was able to get new clothes, shoes and a bus ticket home.
