HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Firefighters battled a large house fire in southeast Houston near the intersection of Avenue N and Wayside Drive on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire began shortly before 3 p.m., and the fire chief says it began as a car fire that engulfed the garage and spread to the house.
Luckily, no one was in the home. The property owner says it is unoccupied. As for injuries, the fire chief says a firefighter was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for heat exhaustion.
No word yet on what caused the fire. The fire chief says it's too early to say whether or not it is suspicious. Arson investigators are on the scene.
