Arrests made in case of slain Cleveland store clerk

CLEVELAND, TX. - Police have arrested three men behind  the fatal shooting of a clerk during a holdup at a Houston-area convenience store.

Cleveland police say the slaying happened Wednesday night. The trio went in to an Exxon station on FM 2025 in Cleveland. Investigators say one robber shot the clerk while the other two grabbed cash from the register, then the trio fled.

The wounded clerk managed to call police. The victim died at a Houston hospital. His name wasn't immediately released.

Cleveland police say they have arrested 2 adults and one juvenile in the case.

Cleveland is 40 miles northeast of Houston.
