Arrest in garbage bin body at motel case
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Homicide investigators have arrested a man who has been charged with murder in an unusual case in which witnesses say someone carried a plastic container with the remains of the person who was killed.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies detained 34-year-old Eric Pleasant. Patrol deputies arrived to the Champions Lodge motel on Cypress Creek Parkway on Thursday night after at least one person reported seeing Pleasant leaving from one of the rooms with the container.
Pleasant and the victim were involved in a fight earlier in the night, according to a statement from HCSO. Investigators say Pleasant used a handgun to shoot the victim while they were both inside the motel room.
Deputies found Pleasant near the crime scene and kept him in custody until homicide investigators arrived. Pleasant is being held on a $60,000 bond at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
