No broken hearts at Luv Me Tenders

Once a popular Houston food truck, Luv Me Tenders has transitioned to a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Chef/owner Jason Hill demonstrates how he makes his famous chicken tenders and shares his recommendations for home cooks who want to duplicate his specialty. His business partner Cyrus Nasr shares details about the new restaurant.

1. Marinate your tenders overnight before deep frying.

Marinade ingredients (per pound of chicken)
3 parts buttermilk
1 part hot sauce
1 raw egg (egg will help flour stick to tenders)

2. After marinating, dredge tenders in seasoned flour mixture.

Seasoned flour ingredients (per pound of chicken)
3 cups flour
1/2 cup cornstarch (cornstarch will add crunchy texture to tenders when fried)
1/2 cup Creole seasoning

3. Fry tenders in oil for around 3 1/2 minutes and enjoy!
