HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston native and former NFL defensive back Donovan Greer opened 713-Juice-Bar inside his Pro Dynamic Fitness gym in April. It is the first all-natural juice and smoothie bar in the Energy Corridor. The Grand Slam, Green Goodness, PB&J and Canadian Kick are some of the most popular healthy drinks at 713-Juice-Bar. Greer, who graduated from Elsik High School in the Alief Independent School District before playing football with the Texas A&M University Aggies, shows food talk radio show host Cleverley Stone how to make his popular Citrus Shine smoothie and encourages Cleverley to taste the Canadian Kick cleanser shot. Will she like it?
Combine frozen pineapple and mango chunks (available in frozen section of grocery stores), add a few pieces of freshly grated ginger and water blend all ingredients in your blender until smooth.
Canadian Kick Cleanser shot
Equal parts of lemon juice and maple syrup.
Use small amounts, about 1 tablespoon of each
A few shakes of cayenne pepper (Use less if it's too much for you)
You can also use this as an iced summer sipping beverage -- just add to a quart of chilled water.
