Houston weather: Warming up this week then another arctic blast possible

Houston will experience seasonal January temperatures through Thursday with highs near 60.

Warmer weather arrives by Friday and Saturday with highs near 70. There are a few chances for rain Wednesday, and Friday into Saturday.

  • Tuesday — Thursday: Temperatures will be near average for this time of year. Skies remain mostly dry with a few showers Wednesday.
  • Friday & Saturday: Temperatures rise to near 70 on Friday ahead of our next front. Rain chances are at 30% late Friday into Saturday with the front sweeping through by Saturday.
  • Sunday: For the Houston Marathon, temperatures will be cooler, waking up to the 40s with highs in the 50s. It will be breezy also with a northerly breeze of 10-15 mph.
