We'll enjoy a beautiful week ahead with high pressure in control. Expect a series of chilly mornings with mostly sunny, mild afternoons and low humidity. A south breeze should return late this week bringing more clouds and a slight chance for rain by Friday. A large West Coast storm system will intensify over Texas on Saturday, so rain looks likely with some heavy storms possible.

Houston has a nice Sunday forecast! Temperatures are chilly to start, but will be rising to the 60s with afternoon with lots of sunshine. As we head into the work week, skies remain dry with mostly clear skies and rising temperatures. Rain chances don't arrive back into the forecast until next weekend. Dry air will dominate the Houston skies this weekend. Forecast highs today will reach the low-60s with mostly cloudy skies. Breezes out of the northwest at 15-20 mph. There are still many flooding reports along the Trinity, San Bernard, Brazos and San Jacinto Rivers with around 3 to 15 inches of rain falling across the area over the last 3-4 days. So please continue to be very cautious and avoid walking or driving through any flooded areas. Some of the flood warnings stick around through early next week. Look for one more round of rain to roll through Friday around 4-11 PM with a few storms possible. Severe weather is not expected and rain totals should be less than a half inch. So this round is not expected to bring significant flooding. A cold front moves through late Friday and early Saturday bringing in drier and slightly cooler air for the weekend. Rising waterways are causing flooding in northwest Harris County and residents in Livingston were stuck in their neighborhoods after a collapsed roadway but are now relieved. FOX 26's Jade Flury has spoken to residents to hear more.

FOX 26 Meteorologist Remeisha Shade has the latest breakdown of all the flood warnings that are ongoing in the Houston area.

The threat of flooding in the Houston area is not over. Montgomery County is under a disaster declaration where many are concerned the San Jacinto River may crest Thursday afternoon. FOX 26's Shelby Rose has more reports on water rescues going on.

After rounds of rain, you can expect partly sunny skies Thursday afternoon. Although there are still some major problems with flooding along our rivers, and some of the flooding may even get worse heading into this weekend. We may be in for one last round of light showers Friday before the sunshine makes a return for the weekend.
