Houston weather pattern shifting drier with temperatures climbing into 90s

Some areas have picked up several inches of rain just over the last few days. So it's great that the weather pattern is finally starting to shift to a drier one. Hotter weather will prevail with temperatures likely climbing to the low 90s by Friday. The rain chance will only be around 10% in the next few days. But a weak cold front will bump our rain chances back up to around 30% for Saturday. So expect spotty showers this weekend with a few additional showers next week. Houston weather: Clear skies Wednesday morning with temps in the upper 60s

We will finally get a break from the daily round of heavy rain and flooding, but there is still a chance for a few late-day storms, especially for our coastal counties. Thursday and Friday bring hot sunshine with highs near 90 and minimal rain chances. Expect some typical scattered showers and a few storms this weekend with seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

We're likely in for one more day with scattered late-day downpours and a chance for some isolated street flooding. The timing looks to be mostly after 3 p.m. and could continue through 8 p.m. or so. Beyond today, rain coverage goes down and temps go up with highs near 90 to wrap up the week.

Following days of heavy rain, some creeks and rivers are running high, but so far none are at a serious flood stage. There is a good chance for scattered heavy downpours again this afternoon, so some additional flooding is possible. Isolated storms are in the outlook for Tuesday with a slight chance for storms Wednesday. We should get hot, humid, mostly sunny weather by late this week.
