Milton made landfall as a CAT 3 hurricane Wednesday evening near Siesta Key, FL. I?m it?s wake, it left more than a foot of rain extending from Tampa to Daytona beach, very strong winds and before the storm even made landfall there was a tornado outbreak. I?m south and central Florida, there have been more than 30 confirmed tornadoes and a record number of tornado warnings for one day. Milton had already moved into the Atlantic but Milton?s impacts will be felt along the Atlantic coast of Florida through midday. SE Texas has dry air overhead keeping pleasant morning temperatures in store for the next several days. Afternoon highs will reach the low-90s today and soar to the mid-90s this weekend. Another weak front moves across the region early next week, so get ready for cooler weather!

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall around 8 to 10 pm tonight between Tampa and Sarasota in Florida as a Major hurricane. There is still the risk for flash flooding, deadly storm surge, tornadoes and widespread damaging winds. 4 to 9" of rain has already fallen with at least 20 tornado reports across Central Florida. Milton will roll across the Florida Peninsula early Thursday and exit the east coast of Florida Thursday afternoon. Locally, look for another fall-like night with some areas dipping to the 50s. We'll have several sunny and dry days with warm afternoons and pleasant nights. Next cold front should arrive early next week and will give us even more of a taste of fall!

Hurricane Milton is a bit weaker but remains a dangerous Category 3 system with an earlier landfall expected between 8-10 pm tonight just south of Tampa Bay. Widespread damaging winds 100+ mph, 6-12" of rain, and dangerous storm surge up to 12' is likely around Tampa Bay, Clearwater, Sarasota & Bradenton. Milton will push across the Central Florida Peninsula early Thursday morning and should still be a Category 1 hurricane as it rolls over Orlando. Milton should push out into the western Atlantic and gradually weaken by Thursday afternoon and evening . Invest 93-L in the SW Atlantic has a Low 30% chance of tropical development as it moves NE. Tropical wave is expected to roll off the west coast of Africa over the next day or two with a very low 10% chance to turn into a tropical system. Hurricane Leslie is still churning in the central Atlantic but will soon turn NE away from the U.S.
