Showers will slow down moving into the overnight on Wednesday. Look for a cloudy day on Thursday with only isolated chances for rain. Late on Friday and into the weekend rain returns to Southeast Texas. Heavy rainfall is possible on Saturday and Sunday with several more inches of rain possible. Timing and locations will need to be adjusted as we get to the end of this week, but right now it does look like Sunday is the wetter day. This unsettled pattern remains in place through the weekend bringing rounds of showers each day. Total accumulations could range from 2-5" overall. The rainy pattern starts with warmer temperatures on but a cold front will cool things off again. Prepare for a chilly morning Friday with most of the FOX26 area in the mid to lower 40s. Temps warm back up for the end of the weekend before the next front arrives on Tuesday.

Today should be the last dry day for a while because beginning Wednesday, we should enter an unsettled pattern bringing off and on showers through the weekend and early next week. Total accumulations could range from 2-5" overall. In fact, isolated hefty downpours are possible as early as tomorrow. Temperature-wise, jacket weather will continue today with a back and forth of cool to chilly air for the next week. So far, no freezing or near-freezing weather is expected in the greater Houston area.
