Saturday morning weather forecast

Temperatures will be freezing for most areas of Southeast Texas tonight, but the hard freeze will remain north and west of Houston. Highs on Saturday will reach the middle 50s and with the sunshine it will feel very nice. By Sunday we will be back in the 60s.

Friday Evening Weather Forecast
video

The end of this arctic blast is in sight! After lows fell to the low and mid 20s this morning, sunshine will help us warm into the mid 40s today with very low humidity. That dry air is likely to cool off quickly tonight with a hard freeze warning in effect for counties north and west, but not including Harris County. Beyond that, a nice warming trend will kick in with seasonably mild afternoons and cool, but not frigid nights.

Friday weather forecast

Very cold temperatures in the 20s will persist through mid morning, followed by a mostly sunny and chilly day with highs in the low to mid 40s.

Here comes another bitterly cold night. A Freeze Warning is posted for much of SE Texas and Houston from midnight until 9am Friday. Lows will drop into the 20s again, but the afternoon will warm into the 40s. It will possibly freeze again early Saturday, but then temps will slowly begin to warm. Sunday will finally have highs in the 60s. It can?t happen fast enough.

Hard Freeze Warning coming tonight
video

Make it stop! Tomorrow looks much better, but for now, a Hard Freeze Warning will go into effect from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Sunday morning. This means that lows are expected to stay below freezing for 12 hours and possibly longer and in the 20s for several hours as well. Minimum temps could reach the teens to low 20s in spots. Unfortunately, this means a threat to pipes again. Bring pets indoors, check on people to make sure they have heat, and cover sensitive plants (if they're not goners already).

Temperatures near freezing in Houston

We've now been below 37 degrees in Houston for more than 108 hours and have has our 6th consecutive day with freezing temperatures. Tomorrow morning will make day number 7 with a hard freeze watch in effect. Lows may sink to the mid to upper 20s and stay below freezing for at least 8 hours, so pipes will be at risk again, especially north and west of Houston.

Wednesday Evening Weather Forecast

Still dropping below freezing but not as cold tonight. Look for another possible hard freeze Thursday night. Looking milder into the weekend but still chilly in the mornings.

Weather should improve in two days
video

Hold on for 48 hours ... just 48 more hours, then everything is going to get much better. If you need to leave your home today, as long as you live south of I-10, you should have a window of time from now through this afternoon to carefully, gingerly make a run to the store, but from what we're reporting, gas is very hard to find. Now, tonight, you absolutely should not be driving (or even walking) because, in most places, a layer of ice will form and make travel very dangerous. If you live north or northwest of Houston, expect sleet today and ice accumulating even this morning and afternoon, so please stay put unless it's an emergency.

Wednesday Morning Weather Forecast

Freezing rain will be back in Southeast Texas Wednesday. We won't all see wintry precipitation but many of us will. The winter storm warning lasts until Thursday morning. Be safe! Our weather warms this weekend.

Another winter storm is expected from Tuesday night through Wednesday. Here's the possible snowfall and it looks much lighter than the last storm. However, it does look like more freezing rain will be possible and that means hazardous roads.
