Today is considered the start of "meteorological spring" meaning that we have passed the three coldest month of the year. Right on time, a beautiful pattern will continue with a series of chilly mornings and sunny, mild afternoons. Look for humidity to increase by this weekend with south breezes and scattered showers.

Sunday marks the transition from cold, cloudy drizzle to sunny, warmer weather. Mornings this week will still be chilly, but afternoons will be pleasant with mainly clear skies and low humidity. A few disturbances this week will cause cloud cover to fluctuate at times, but we aren't looking at any rain chances until possibly the Saturday/Sunday time frame. So enjoy that sunshine and the first official week of Rodeo!

By Sunday afternoon, we'll see improving conditions from north to south with slightly milder temperatures and the return of sunshine. The first full week of rodeo looks fantastic, mornings will still be cool but afternoons will be warmer, dry and pleasant! By the weekend, daytime highs look to hover near 80 degrees.

Some steadier rain is likely overnight Saturday into Sunday morning to the west and north before conditions start to gradually improve Sunday afternoon. By Monday, for the official start of rodeo sunshine returns, and temps climb back into the 60s and even 70s toward the end of the week.

Winter weather is back and likely to stick around through the weekend. Expect cloudy, cold and sprinkly conditions today and Friday with high temperatures staying below 50 in most areas. Lows in the Houston area will remain above freezing, so there isn't an icing threat locally, but well to our north and west, some light sleet or freezing rain is possible. Monday and Tuesday are looking great with sunshine returning and helping high temperatures return to near 70.
