This year's 'Go Topless Jeep Weekend' is going a lot smoother. The Galveston County Sheriff's Office says it increased police presence to minimize the rowdy behavior on the beaches and neighborhoods close by.
Galveston County Sheriff's Office Sgt. John Hamm was badly injured after he was hit by a suspected drunk driver during the “Go Topless Jeep Weekend” event. His wife spoke exclusively with FOX 26 about Sgt. Hamm's recovery.
What was meant to be a weekend of fun and excitement for jeep enthusiasts, soon turned dangerous after more than 100 people were arrested and left a Galveston County deputy seriously injured.
Hundreds of people are getting ready to ‘go topless’ this weekend on Crystal Beach. Patrol has increased making sure everyone behaves on Bolivar Peninsula.
