Juneteenth

For the airline’s "Freedom Flight," United flew the high school students around Texas for about 90 minutes to celebrate Juneteenth. For many of the children, it was their first time ever being on an airplane.

Juneteenth is an opportunity to celebrate freedom! Organizations, communities and institutions around the city have joined forces to fill up your calendar all month long.

156 years after it happened and Juneteenth is now a federal holiday.

A family in Fort Bend County is reminded of Juneteenth nearly everyday as they fight to find out how they lost 100 acres of land once purchased by their descendant after slavery.
