Uvalde, Texas School Shooting

Multiple police officers stood in a hallway at Robb Elementary School armed with rifles and at least one ballistic shield within 19 minutes of a gunman arriving at the campus, according to documents reviewed by the Austin American-Statesman, a devastating new revelation deepening questions about why police didn’t act faster to stop the shooter who killed 19 children and two teachers last month.

Three elementary students, who tragically lost their lives during a massacre in Uvalde, Texas were honored during a baseball game over the weekend.

State Rep. Dustin Burrows, the chairman of the investigating committee, said he couldn’t promise a timeline for the review, and that witnesses will be questioned in private.

New details have been released regarding a Brazoria County Deputy that was charged with public intoxication while assisting in Uvalde following the tragic shooting last month.

Families of victims and survivors of the mass shootings in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas appeared before a U.S. House committee Wednesday in an effort to share the human impact of gun violence and the urgency for lawmakers to enact gun control legislation.

The Justice Department says the review will include an examination of police policies, training, and communication, along with the deployment of officers and tactics.

An off-duty Brazoria County Deputy, who was assisting in Uvalde following the tragic school shooting, was charged with public intoxication.
