The jury began deliberating on Monday, and on Wednesday the jury sent a note to the judge saying they couldn’t agree on a verdict. The judge instructed them to keep deliberating but declared a mistrial a few hours later.

The jury spent hours Monday and Tuesday deliberating the fate of Antonio Armstrong Jr., who is charged with murdering his parents when he was just 16 years old.

Jurors are now deliberating the fate of Antonio Armstrong Junior after two weeks of testimony. Armstrong is charged with capital murder, accused of killing his parents in 2016. His first capital murder trial ended in a hung jury back in 2019. 

Defense attorney's in AJ Armstrong's re-trial believe Armstrong's older brother Josh should be on trial because of his mental health.

On the witness stand, a Houston Police officer described Antonio Armstrong Junior’s demeanor as eerie and calm after the murder of his parents former NFL player Antonio Armstrong Sr. and Dawn Armstrong. 

The now 22 year old Antonio Armstrong Jr. put his face in his hands Wednesday and looked down at the defense table as prosecutors showed pictures of Armstrong’s parent’s bloody bedroom.

In a motion filed by Armstrong's attorneys, records from Westpark Springs Hospital, where Joshua was being treated, state Joshua made many statements saying that he witnessed his parents being murdered. 

A new trial date could be set this morning for 19-year-old Antonio Armstrong, Jr. A mistrial was declared in his first double murder trial nearly a month ago. Armstrong Jr. is accused of killing his parents in their Bellaire home three years ago.

After more than two weeks of testimony, the teen accused of killing his parents, A.J. Armstrong’s fate, is now in the hands of the jury.
