Reliant Gives

Reliant is launching the third round of Reliant Gives, the company’s crowdsourced charitable-giving program.

Three non-profit groups have been chosen by Reliant employees for a chance to receive a $100,000 donation. Reliant is directing its charitable giving to the public to decide who receives the top prize.

The three 2016 finalists are:

  • CYCLE: Changing Young Children’s Lives through Education in Houston rewards students with new bicycles for achieving better academic performance in the classroom.
  • • Snowdrop Foundation in Houston provides scholarships for college-bound pediatric cancer patients and childhood cancer survivors.
  • • The Warren Center in Dallas provides resources and support to families and young children who struggle with developmental delay or disability.

Voting began on Giving Tuesday, November 29 and ends on Dec. 9 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Anyone can vote an unlimited amount of times for one of the three finalists by visiting http://giving.myreliant.com/?sid=GOR_2016Dec_ReliantGives_Vote. The nonprofit finalist with the most votes at the end of the voting period will receive $100,000 and the other two nonprofits will receive $10,000 and $5,000, respectively, based on the number of votes they receive.

“This round of Reliant Gives is especially meaningful since each nonprofit focuses on helping children and their families,” said Elizabeth Killinger, president of Reliant and NRG Retail. “During the holiday season, we’re all looking for ways to get involved in our community and support one another, and Reliant wants to help you do just that. We encourage everyone to vote often to show support and help make the holidays a little brighter for someone in need!”
