Slowik's firing comes after two years in Houston.
He was brought in as the Texans offensive coordinator by DeMeco Ryans in 2023.
Slowik's first season in Houston was viewed as a success, helping lead rookie QB CJ Stroud to the playoffs.
He interviewed for head coaching jobs after the 2023 season before he was given a new contract and a significant raise by the Texans.
By the numbers:
In 2024, the offense struggled badly at times.
The Texans offense finished 22nd in yards and 19th in points per game in the 2024 regular season.
Untimely injuries to Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Joe Mixon did not help the cause.
In 2023, the Texans offense was 15th in yards and 13th in points.
Other Texans staff members fired
Sources also tell FOX 26 that offensive line coach Chris Strausser and assistant offensive line coach Cole Popovich were also fired.
