Woman who claims HPD officer Gerald Goines planted drugs on her is out of jail
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A woman claims she was sent to jail because of a case handled by Officer Gerald Goines. She spoke with Fox 26 after her release.
Courtney Jacobs had her case dismissed and was released from jail Wednesday. Although she tells us she has priors, she says she didn’t deserve 5 and a half months in jail for her latest charge. She tells us "I was walking down the street, minding my own business, and he aggressively told me to get into the truck more than one time telling me he was a nice single man and he was trying to get to know somebody. And then when I got in the car he kept on questioning me about weed, so I took him to get weed, and he planted pills on me."
Jacobs was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance. She claims Gerald Goines planted the drugs on her. Over 1,400 cases are now under the microscope of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, all cases Goines worked on. As of today, he has not been charged. People like Jacobs who feel that they have been wronged, would like to see him behind bars.
“It’s very sad, he's supposed to be protecting society and he’s doing things like this. I think he needs to suffer like I did. He needs to get him some time in jail.“
Jacobs tells us that now that she’s out, she plans on spending time with her family and getting her life back on track.
