Woman shot multiple times in north Harris Co., man charged with murder

One man has been charged with murder after admitting to shooting a woman who was staying in his home.

Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Division said deputies responded to a call in the 4900 block of Fox Mill Lane Thursday morning in reference to a possible shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a 36-year-old woman had been shot multiple times inside a home.

Brown said initial investigation revealed that the woman was temporarily staying at the home with Phillip Beach and his wife.

At some point during the incident, Brown said Beach produced a handgun and shot the woman.

Investigators believe Beach's reason for shooting the woman may be related to mental health issues.
