Woman on trial in murder of her baby daughter

GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) - Prosecutors say it is a simple case of a jilted woman, her anger and the murder of her child. Investigators charged Kayla Stouten-Orozco, 25, with murder in the death of her 15-month-old daughter Estrellia Enriquez. That child died as a result of asphyxiation at the family's apartment unit on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, according to the medical examiner.

Investigators say the child had a pair of pajamas tied around her face by her mother. Stouten-Orozco will soon  learn if a jury of her peers will convict her of murder in the 2014 death of her child. The trial began on Monday and jurors began deliberating at 11 a.m. Thursday.
