Two young siblings die after they were removed from swimming pool

Houston police confirm that two brothers have died after they were pulled from a swimming pool in west Houston.

Firefighters arrived to the home on Thicket Ridge Lane near Summer Blossom Lane on Thursday night and found the boys entangled in a tent that was in the pool.

The brothers, identified by police on Friday as 9-year-old Gonzalo Ramiro and 6-year-old Alvaro Ramiro, were pronounced dead on Thursday at Texas Children's Hospital.

Police say the boys were in the care of a nanny while their mother ran errands. The brothers were apparently playing with the tent when they ended up in the water with the camping gear, according to a police statement.

The boys' mother found them in the pool when she returned home. The nanny and a subdivision security guard helped pull the children from the pool.
