Trump disinvites Eagles to White House

The Philadelphia Eagles did not spend the day at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue today. Instead there was a "Celebration of America”.

President Trump canceled the team's visit to honor their Super Bowl win, saying he withdrew the invitation and citing their dispute over national anthem protests.

The president tweeted, "Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event. Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. "

Today some NBA players expressed their support for the Eagles.

"It's typical of him. I mean I know no matter who wins this series no one wants the invite anyway so it won't be Golden State or Cleveland going," Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James says.

"We get it at this point. But it's good that guys are sticking to what they believe in, what they want to do. Like guys said before me, I'm sure whoever wins this series won't be going," says Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant.
