The search is on this morning for the driver who hit and killed two people who were searching for a dog along the south loop.  Investigators say the driver of a pickup truck crashed into a guardrail near long drive late last night after becoming distracted by his dog. Good Samaritans pulled over to help.  A man and the driver of the truck were hit and killed.

 

An HISD teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager. North forest high school junior ROTC teacher Dane Weatherford was arrested over the weekend. Investigators say there was a suicide attempt at his home. He is due in court tomorrow.

 

The search is on for who's responsible for a body that was found in a burned out vehicle at an apartment complex. The discovery was made Sunday morning on Richmond avenue near Briarpark. Police do not know how the man died -- but believe the car was connected to an earlier shooting.

 

In California, more homes have fallen to two big wildfires north of San Francisco. Fire officials say one of the fires destroyed another 162 homes, bringing the overall total from both blazes to nearly 16,000. The fires have killed five people and authorities are investigating a possible suicide after a body was found in a charred vehicle over the weekend.
