Police are investigating a shooting in east Houston. Last night, the Harris county sheriff's office responded to the incident on dell dale near the east freeway. Reports are that someone was taken to the hospital. No word on the condition of that individual.

           

 

Galveston police are trying to identify a body found on the beach. Investigators tell us, a jogger found the body of a woman, near the 900 block of Seawall Boulevard. Police say the woman appears to be of Asian descent. It’s still not clear how she may have died.

 

 

The search for a missing kayaker in the buffalo bayou is over. Texas Equusearch volunteers discovered the body of 36-year-old Jason Boyle Monday and he and a woman tipped over in their kayaks last Friday near Willowick and pine hill in river oaks. The woman made it out of the water safely.

 

Out west, authorities say, an eighth person has been found dead following flash flooding in a Utah-Arizona border community. The deaths occurred last night, after a wall of water swept away two vehicles carrying women and children. Three people survived as the flash flooding washed vehicles several hundred yards downstream.

 

In northern California near the Napa valley, the fire that spread through Middletown continues to rage nearly unchecked this morning. It’s consumed 95 square miles, injured four firefighters and burned more than a thousand homes and other structures.  One person died, and 23,000 others have been displaced.
