Top stories Saturday morning Sept. 5th

HOUSTON (FOX26) - After midnight an officer tried to pull over a car with no headlights on Clay Rd at Hempstead,  but that driver took off and  the officer followed. The high speed chase ended when the driver got a flat tire, lost control and crashed into a sign on Bingle near Hammerly.  Three men and one woman were arrested. The car was not stolen, but the driver had an unregistered gun in the car.

Man shot an officer twice  In southeast Houston an officer responded to a report of gunshots. When he arrived in the area on Chenault he saw a man holding a gun. The officer fired his weapon when he feared for his life. The man was taken to the hospital and is expected to live
