Tennessee Children's Hospital pays tribute to young organ donor with honor walk

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee - Staff at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital paid their respects to a young patient who had died following a decision to donate the patient’s organs in order to help others in need.

The hospital shared footage on Facebook that shows doctors and nurses lining the corridor in an honor walk as the donor’s remains are taken to the operating theater.

“This is a family’s hardest day; their selfless decision will give life to others. They deserve this tribute. The Honor Walk shows families they are not alone,” the hospital wrote in a Facebook post.
