Teen playing Pokémon Go injured in hit and run incident; driver arrested

What started as an innocent game of Pokémon Go, ended with 16-year-old Adriana Boss being rushed to the hospital with serious injuries,  Authorities say she was struck by driver, who then fled the scene.

Police say it happened around 10 p.m. Sunday night in Port Orange. Boss and her mother were at a home on Clara Street,  when she noticed on the Pokémon Go app that there was a Pokémon located across the street at Booth’s Bowery on Nova Road.  She asked her mother for permission before crossing the road on her skateboard.   Thatt’s when police say she was struck by a car.

Police say the woman allegedly driving that car, 33-year old  Heather Leonard, fled the scene after the incident. The next day, police were able to track her down after receiving a tip.

Meanwhile, a Go Fund Me page has been set up for Adriana Boss who suffered a broken arm, leg and jaw, along with bruised lungs.
