TOMBALL (FOX 26) - The teenager who was stabbed to death was at home with his 12-year-old sister in a quiet Suburb near Tomball.
Sheriffs deputies say they were called to the home in the 18600 block of Odem Trace at 4pm Monday afternoon by their next door neighbor.
That neighbor reportedly told 911 his neighbor was stabbed and he went to help.
"Upon his arrival he found a suspect with blood on him attacking his neighbor," said Harris County Sheriffs Sergeant Cedrick Collier. "The neighbor pulled his weapon striking the suspect once and then proceeded to assist his neighbor."
Both teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their names were not released Monday night.
Roy Rivas lives around the block.
He says his teenage son knows the 17-year-old that was stabbed to death.
"From what I understand one teenage boy came to the home the victim was inside the shower and he stabbed him," Rivas said.
When Asked if he knew what the possible motive was Rivas replied, "The suspicion is over a girl old that's what I'm hearing from the kids."
" I coach basketball I know a lot of these kids my 16-year-old has grown up with a lot of these kids I'm shocked," Rivas said.
Sheriffs deputies wouldn't confirm the stabbing was over a girl.
Collier said the motive was unknown and investigators hadn't determined if the two teenagers knew each other.
Another story circulating the neighborhood was the neighbor who shot the teenager to death is a firefighter but deputies wouldn't confirm that either.
Sheriffs deputies would only say the neighbor witnessed the stabbing and shot the knife wielding teen in self defense and no criminal charges are expected.
