Teen charged with murder in fatal drive-by shooting of 8-year-old boy

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Police arrested a teen in a drive-by shooting in southeast Houston that left an 8-year-old boy dead.

Devonte Lockett, 18, is charged with murder, HPD Chief Art Acevedo says.

On March 1, Tristian Hutchins and his 5-year-old sister were inside a parked car outside a nail salon in the 3900 block of Scott Street in Houston when someone shot at the vehicle multiple times.  Tristian was shot in the head and died in a hospital on March 28. His sister is home and recovering after being shot in the leg.
