2 suspects charged with capital murder in deadly Alief apartment shooting
HOUSTON - Two suspects accused of shooting and killing a man back in May at a Houston apartment complex in Alief have both been arrested and charged with capital murder.
Gary Johnson, 21, and Malik Baker, 18, both face capital murder charges for the shooting death of 19-year-old Caleb Mitchell.

The backstory:
Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment on South Glen Drive around 5:40 p.m. on May 2. Whenm they arrived, they found Caleb Mitchell, 19, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a breezeway.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Mitchell deceased at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division detectives say Mitchell had left the apartment to meet someone when he was shot. Witnesses report seeing two males fleeing the scene shortly after.
Investigators later identified Johnson and Baker as the two suspects. Johnson was arrested on May 27 and Baker was arrested in New Orleans on Aug. 14. Both face capital murder charges.
Malik Baker remains in custody in Louisiana, where he is awaiting extradition to Harris County.
